take a peek at the family behind Sweet Pea Photography...

Most of the time when I look through my viewfinder, I see someone else's family...  so this blog gives me a new reason/excuse/opportunity to pick up my camera and see the people I love most in this world... my family!  Thanks for joining me here - isn't the view beautiful?!

Milestones

Although she was frustrated about being on her tummy, and although I propped her up on her elbows really well, I’m going to count it anyway… Eden rolled over yesterday!  Twice!  First to the left, and then to the right! It must’ve been a traumatic experience, though… because she was a real stinker for her daddy later that night while I was at church drama practice. One of those times when she was so tired that she couldn’t stay asleep for more than fifteen minutes before jumping and waking herself up.  Maybe remembering the feeling of rolling over and waking up in surprise?  Who knows… She was back to her wonderful self today.

Oh, and we finally got Averhy’s last bandaid off today… amidst tears and “no! It’s not healed yet!” It will be a LONG time (or a really nasty scrape) before we put another bandaid on that girl’s tender skin…

May 2, 2007 - 5:39 pm Mema - Here is my first blog entry. I think I am going to enjoy reading about what is going on in all of your lives. Sorry I missed Eden rolling over, but I am certain it will happen again. We are so excited for a sleepover for Averhy and Eden ( and of course, Mom, too). Love and Blessings, Mema

April 30, 2007 - 10:31 am Papa - Okay, I'm like Keith and really don't get what a blog is yet, but maybe I will soon. As far as the bandaid thing goes, did you try bribing Averhy with ice cream? Tell the girls that Papa loves them....oh yeah, and you guys, too.

April 28, 2007 - 1:20 pm Grandma - Averhy - I totally understand your dislike of bandaides! You must have gotten that gene from me :) Next time tell Mommy to kiss them twice instead of using one! Eden - keep practicing those roll-overs! One of these days Cousin Lili can tell you all about that time she rolled over right off the bed :)

April 28, 2007 - 11:56 am jen - Lili andI think your blog is a great idea! She enjoyed hearing about her cousins! Lili wants to tell the girls : cv vb v hcv,. I think She likes the space bar the best! Hugs, Jen

Hello world!

well, this is my first blog post.  I thought it might be fun to have a place to share what’s going on in the lives of my little sweet peas, Averhy and Eden…

unfortunately, this week Averhy and I are sick. yuck. generally feeling icky, sore-throat-y, cough-y (coffee?)… but at least Eden hasn’t gotten it. it’s tough enough being a mom to a sick kiddo, but when you’re sick yourself, it’s really not pleasant. but we get through it all, don’t we…

Despite being sick, Averhy fills up her days with talking and singing – often at the top of her lungs, and usually with made-up words that mostly end in “ah”, as in “Nalah, Ballah, etc.”  About a  week ago, she got bitten up pretty good by a mosquito (or something like that) and we put anti-itch cream on all of her itchy spots, with bandaids to cover them up… big mistake.  Today, we’re still working on removing the last bandaid… although it’s hanging on by barely more than a thread, Averhy won’t let us touch it.  She even turned down the sweet deal of watching “The Polar Express” this morning (a long movie?? in the morning?? unheard of!) in exchange for letting me pull the bandaid…  oh well. it’ll come off sooner or later…

Eden is ever the sweetheart.  She smiles all the time and really loves being held.  She makes the best cooing noises and almost giggles when we stick out our tongues or make silly faces at her.  Her dimples are just to die for…

but thankfully, they’re both sleeping right now so I can catch up on some photo editing – Marissa’s images from last weekend – so back to work I go!

April 28, 2007 - 6:15 am Sky - Tonight, Averhy's ponytail thingys became "Chasa's"... I have no idea what that means but apparently they can be used to create butterflies and sometimes tigers.
