Averhy has been asking “can we go to a fair?” for several weeks now, and finally we had a free Friday night when there was actually a fair going on, and the girls had taken long afternoon naps, so we headed off to the Fisher Community Fair! We met our friends Stan and Amy Bergman (and Alec and Aidan) as soon as we arrived, then got some tasty pork tenderloin sandwiches and a corn dog for Averhy. Yum! We walked through the animal barn – only some goats were still there, but the girls had fun looking at them and listening to them – and then headed over to the rides. Averhy chose to go on the carousel (fun), the big climbing-obstacle-course-thingy (lots of fun – did it twice), the elephant ride (too scary), a car ride (fun, as you can tell by her smile), and the big slide with mom (Averhy’s comment – “I had no fun on that – it was scary”). So next time we’ll have to remember her preferences… Eden did a great job just watching everything and taking it all in! Didn’t get home until 10:30, and spent $50 (who thought going to the fair would be an expensive night out??), but the girls had a blast and we had fun watching them!
let’s go to the fair!
July 14, 2008 - 6:08 pm - We went to the Champaign County Fair with the Ludwigs last year. Even though we did purchase tickets to the Monster Truck show, being there only 4-5 hours cost us almost $60. We also probably consumed on average 1600 calories/person. Good thing they only come once a year! P.S. Taking an excited two-year-old girl to a Monster truck show was not the greatest idea. I don't think that Maddy had ever sucked her thumb before. It is way louder than you would think.

July 14, 2008 - 2:25 am - Looks like great fun. What happy girls! Love, mema
