my walls…part 1 | savoy family photographer

I promised to show you my new gallery-wrap canvases… and here they are up on my walls!!  I’m so excited about how these turned out.  On the left is a 20×30″, the upper right is a 16×36″, and below that are and 8×10″, 10×12″, and 8×10″ wraps…  When I first ordered the 20×30″ wrap, I had planned on displaying it above our staircase, in a spot that has been waiting FOREVER for a print… but when it arrived I realized the 20×30″ was actually too SMALL!  So I decided to incorporate it in a display featuring images from our travels this summer.  I’m so glad I did!

Here’s a quick detail shot of the smaller gallery-wrapped canvases… I love how the image just wraps around the side and hugs the wall…

And in light of the display contest I’m hosting right now, here’s another way I have some images displayed in my home.  I love finding unique black frames for table-top displays… although I just realized that the middle frame is an example of a no-no… there’s no mat!  You should always ALWAYS mat your photographs.  When you don’t, and the photo paper is in direct contact with the glass, over time the humidity in our wonderful Illinois air will cause the print to stick to the glass and often become permanently attached… eek!  Guess I better go fix that right now!

Now that I’ve shown my displays to you, I’d love to see how YOU display your Sweet Pea Photography artwork throughout your home!  So here’s a reminder of the contest… between now and Friday September 11th, send me your photos of the ways you display your Sweet Pea photographs! Don’t worry about the quality of your photograph – just pull out your handy point-and-shoot camera, take a few shots of your Sweet Pea artwork in your home, and email your display photographs to me by Friday, September 11th! Then I’ll post the most creative displays here on the blog, so everyone else can benefit from your ideas — and one random (but lucky) person will receive a $60 print certificate!! But you can’t win if you don’t enter… so go hang up that storyboard you’ve been waiting to frame, snap a few shots, and send them in!
