I’m sure I’ve mentioned it before, but fall is my favorite season. The crisp, cool air… the gorgeous colors all around… families who love playing with one another… okay, that last one happens all year long at Sweet Pea Photography, but there’s just something about Beloved family sessions in the fall that makes me smile extra big! For example, take this family I photographed a few weeks ago in Champaign… they had a blast playing outside on a beautiful fall morning, and I got to capture it! Last weekend, I had a great time hanging out in Mahomet with 3 generations of a family that clearly adores one another. We started our fun morning at the barbershop and ended with fishing in the pond… and in between there were lots of laughs and hugs! I’m so excited to announce the opening of CU Studio Share! I founded this new business with my good friend Holly (of Holly Birch Photography) to connect with other photographers and artists in C-U who may be in need of a professional location to meet with clients and have sessions. This fantastic studio in downtown Urbana is located at 110 S. Race Street – which is directly below my current studio (where we will continue to view proofs and have ordering appointments). It will now be available as a location for Sweet Pea Photography sessions, and as a backup location for all outdoor sessions! I think one of the best things about my job is that I’m always smiling while I’m working… whether it’s during a session and the kids are making me giggle, or whether I’m sitting at my computer editing images full of happiness and love, I just can’t help but smile! Seriously – sometimes I’m half-way through editing a folder of images when I realize that I have a goofy grin on my face, simply because of what I’m looking at! Well, hello again friends! I know it has been too long since my last post on here, but things have been busy busy busy in my world lately! In the past few weeks, I took a quick trip to L.A. for a great workshop on Beloved photography (which is essentially lifestyle photography like mine, just kicked up a notch!) and since my return I’ve been hanging out with beautiful families like this one! But never fear, all that busy-ness equals lots of fun images for you to enjoy now!

I had a blast with this family over at the Champaign Country Club, and am honored that they made the trek down to Champaign-Urbana from the Chicago suburbs for their session (thanks guys!). It has been 2 years since their last session, and these kiddos have grown up quite a bit – but are still as sweet as last time. And when I say FULL, I’m actually referring to the Sweet Pea Photography fall schedule… but I can’t post without a picture, right? And this image is about as full of love as you can get, so I thought it was fitting…

Isn’t this one of the cutest nurseries you’ve ever seen? Actually, I kinda wish my bedroom was this colorful and cute… I had a great time meeting this beautiful girl last week, and she was simply perfect during her newborn photography session at her home in Urbana. I’ve been working with her family for the past 4 years – since her big sister was still just a bun in the oven! – and it is a pleasure each and every time they have a Sweet Pea Photography session.
