This sweet little guy was a rock star during his newborn photography session in Tolono last week – and not just because of his awesome hair! He was bright-eyed and taking it all in… and then fell sound asleep just fine too!  I can tell that his mom and dad are going to be great parents, and it was such a treat to chat with them about the adventures of parenting that lie ahead.  Thanks for a laid-back session at your home, and I hope to see you again next year!

I am not bilingual (though I wish I was), but working with this family last week reminded me that love looks the same in any language! We had a wonderfully relaxed session at their home in Champaign, where we played, laughed, and danced… and I even had the privilege of listening to The Giving Tree, a book by Shel Silverstein, read in both English and Japanese – what a treat! Thank you for a great session with your beautiful girls, and I hope to spend time with your family again next year!

If one cute 2-year old is nice, then two are twice as nice, right?  Or at least twice as busy! You thought this was going to be a Halloween post, didn’t you?!  Nope, just an awesome Champaign family who happen to have super-powers… You don’t believe me? I guess you’ll just have to stop by CrossFit CU some Saturday morning and see for yourself… or maybe just watch this dynamic duo juggle all the duties of parenting 3 busy boys… Either way, they surpass the Incredibles in my opinion!  Not only have they referred more new families to Sweet Pea Photography over the past 5 years than anyone else, they have become my great friends too – and for that I am most thankful!  Enjoy this sneak peek, and remember to leave a comment or share it on Facebook to help them receive a 5×7 print after 25 comments!

I have been having a blast at the 2011 Festival of Trees, which is a fantastic weekend of events put on by the Junior League of Champaign-Urbana!  This year it’s being held at the Lincoln Square Mall in Urbana, and there are still public hours Saturday and Sunday afternoon, so you should definitely check it out!  The Junior League of CU is a great organization that supports families, children, and education throughout Champaign County, and you can find out more about them on their website.  Here’s a sneak peek at the fun we’ve been having so far, or click here to view the full slideshow of this weekend’s events!

I can tell already that this big brother is going to watch out for his little sister, as well as teach her some rough-and-tumble fun too!
