This fall I had the honor of photographing the featured family for the Developmental Services Center Tree of Hope campaign! The DSC is a wonderful organization here in Champaign-Urbana that provides much-needed supportive services to families and people with developmental and other disabilities. You can read more about this neat family, see more images from their Sweet Pea Photography session, and even support the mission of DSC by visiting the DSC website. Also keep an eye out for more information about the Tree of Hope arriving in your mailbox around Thanksgiving!
I had a fantastic time with this family at their home in Champaign a few weeks ago on a rainy Saturday morning. Thankfully, the rain stayed away until we were finished playing games outside and I was able to capture some great shots like this one… notice the giant kiss she’s giving to her dad? Okay, that’s really a lick – which I guess is how kids interpret my suggestion to “give mom and dad a big wet kiss!” Hee hee! Mom and Dad got their turn later though (much to the dismay of their kiddos – what fantastic expressions!) Thanks again for a great session!

The dad in this family is going to have his hands full when his daughters get older… keeping the boys at bay! These girls obviously love being sisters, and they sure love their mom and dad too. What a fun time we had during their family photography session at their home in Champaign a few weeks ago. Thanks for sharing your family time with me – I had a blast!

I’m not sure how it works out this way, but ALL of the families I get to photograph are beautiful. Seriously. Take these kids for example… yep, gorgeous. I love working through the images from every. single. session. because the love that Sweet Pea family members feel for one another is almost palpable… and it makes me smile non-stop while I’m sitting at my computer, editing away. I must look pretty silly, grinning like a goofball at my computer screen. Oh wait — I think you’re starting to do the same thing… 😉

If you’re starting to think about what to give your parents for Christmas this year, here’s your answer… this wonderfully smart daughter gifted her parents with a Sweet Pea Photography session for their anniversary + Christmas last year, and we had an absolute blast together a few weeks ago at Meadowbrook park in Urbana. I had so much fun watching this family play with each other – yes, PLAY – that I really wish I could be a fly on the wall at their Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas brunch… I’m sure it’s a crazy good time! Thanks for an awesome morning you guys!!

I had so much fun spending time with this family at their farm in Homer last fall, and I was thrilled to do another session with them this year! I love seeing how much kids change over the course of a year. It warms my heart when kids remember me from year to year too — and as soon as I arrived, these guys were asking if we could play some of the same games that we did at their last session! (Of course my answer was yes!) Thanks for an awesome evening of giggles, tickles, and laughter – I’m already looking forward to next time!

Babies make me sigh a happy sigh… especially sweet girls like this one. It was so nice to spend a morning with this family at their home in St. Joseph… and her big brother was just the sweetest guy too – giving her little kisses and “reading” a book to her… almost makes me want another one of my own. Almost. 😉
